Draiflessen: MuseumsSpaß digital

Students of Textile Studies dealt with the topic of "The Little Black Dress" as part of a seminar. The seminar was led by art and textile historian Dr. Maria Spitz, curator of the Draiflessen Collection in Mettingen. Under the heading of education and outreach, the students created videos to complement the seminar under the heading MuseumsSpaß (museums fun) digital for the homepage of the museum in Mettingen.

Outer skin - Inner working

Students present the findings of the seminar on “Outer Skin – Inner Workings. Clothing as Protection and Cover” at the Lutherkirche on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at 11:00. The presentation is part of the event entitled “The other kind of church service”. A video on the seminar was created.

What other uses are there for worn jeans? What is the potential of these resources? What are the alternatives to simply disposing of them? How can the concepts of sustainability, jeans and design be combined? Students from Osnabrück University’s Department of Textile Studies asked themselves these very questions. A video shows a presentation on this topic at the OsnabrückHalle.
